Our Story
Jessica D. Payne, PhD is a Harvard trained cognitive neuroscientist and Professor at the University of Notre Dame, where she runs the Sleep, Stress, & Memory Lab. Her research focuses on how sleep and stress influence learning and memory, performance, emotion, creativity, and general wellbeing.
She also has worked with corporations for 15+ years to help them understand how sleep and stress influence the brain, and how these inescapable functions impact cognition, performance, innovation and psychological and physical well-being.
Christine Payne, PhD is a New York University trained social and affective neuroscientist, focusing on how human brains relate to and understand each other, the neural basis of empathy, and circumstances in which social cognition can go awry (e.g., failures of empathy, neurodevelopment disorders, bias). For 12+ years, she has worked with business leaders to translate neuroscience research into applicable and actionable strategies to overcome a variety of leadership challenges.
Collaborating over the years on both academic research and the business application of their neuroscientific expertise, the Drs. Payne have formulated The B.R.A.I.N.™ Model, a framework that clearly and effectively helps leaders understand and work with both the power and limitations of the human brain.
They hope to guide you on your journey to becoming a Brain-Based Leader™.
